The Toruń Panorama

As the new tourist information sign will inform you, the panorama of Toruń is one of the seven wonders of Poland. Spectacular during the day and simply stunning at night...it is the must-see photographic attraction here in Toruń. Even after 9 years of living here I never get tired of this view...and you can see why!

Room with a View

This close-up of the city walls of Toruń reveals an apartment with possibly the best balcony in town...overlooking the River Vistula. Would love to sit out there sipping a cup of tea and reading the morning paper.

The Panorama

Here is the panorama of Toruń as seen through the glass window of TVN24's TV studio. I've lived here for 9 years and every time I see this view it still grabs me! One of the best views in the world!!!

The Faded View

Toruń's landmark cathedral captured through the dirty window of a local city bus as it sped across the bridge. In a way I kind of like the blurred effect!

Restaurant with a View

This is the view from a table in the restaurant of the 4-star Hotel Bulwar. From here you can see the frozen River Vistula and the road bridge.

The View

This is the view from the leaning tower looking across towards the Vistula.

A Room with a View

This is the view from the luxury apartment of Hotel Bulwar. It was in this very same apartment, two years ago, that the legendary tenor Jose Carreras stayed. He was in town to give a concert at the then just-opened speedway stadium.

Watching the World Go By

When you live in a tenement building in the middle of the old town...what better way to pass the time than watch the world go by from your window. This seems to be a common pastime among local residents here in Toruń.

A New Perspective on Things

Looking out from the 3rd floor of the new B&B Hotel in Toruń. Interesting view onto the street. You can just make out the number 1 tram heading from the suburb of Rubinokowo.

Room with a View

If you want to relax, sip a delicious cup of coffee and watch the world go by...then this is the perfect place. Queensland Cafe in the PDT shopping gallery offers it's customers a great view onto the old market square. So you can eat your chocolate ice cream and people spot all at the same time!

LOOKING ABOVE: Town Hall Sightseeing

High above the streets of Toruń these tourists enjoy the view from the top of the Town Hall Tower. It's quite a few flights of narrow steps up there...but the view is for sure worth it!!

The View

It's a long way up those winding stairs of Toruń's Town Hall...but once you reach the top...the view is well worth it! Especially on a sunny day (not that we're getting many of these at the moment...roll on spring, where are you?!).

A View from the Warmth

Toruń is currently covered in a thick blanket of powder puff snow. It's cold, it's wintry...but hey I'm in the warmth of indoors...albeit at work (even on a Saturday!). This image, taken just a few moments ago, is the view from the main entrance of Speak Up school looking out into the white yonder.

Archway to the outside world

This is the view looking up, as you climb the stairs back up from the "Niebo" ("Heaven") pub in the Old Square of Toruń. Most pubs in Toruń are hidden below in the basement and many offer attractive surroundings. Unfortuantely, due to the lack of ventilation...many are smoke traps. All you need to do is walk in a pub here for a few seconds...and already you will stink like an ashtray! Bring on the anti-smoking law like in the UK!
