EURO 2012 FEVER!!
TORUŃ DAILY PHOTO was very lucky to get a ticket to see Ireland vs. Croatia in their first EURO 2012 match. The final result may not have been great (3-1 to Croatia) but the atmosphere was amazing. TDP was fortunate enough to travel with the Irish fans from Toruń. The convoy of 8 buses had police escort all the way to Poznan.
Poznan was party central...everyone was good spirited and we saw no violence or aggression amongst the fans. TDP also captured the Irish team as they boarded their coach on the way to the stadium!

Rod Rocks Toruń!
Images courtesy of Graham Harris
Last night, Rod Stewart was live in Toruń! He performed all his greatest hits to many Polish fans at the MotoArena stadium. This is the 2nd time that a big name has come to Toruń; last year Jose Carreras also peformed. If this is to become a regular occurrence...then who will it be next year? Madonna?!!
Many thanks to Graham Harris for sending in the photos.

COPERNICUS RETURNS TO TORUŃ!
Today, is a very special day here in Toruń...to celebrate the anniversary of Copernicus' birth (here in Toruń many years ago)...the great man himself has returned to our city!
In North Poland, they dug up the remains of Nicolas Copernicus to prove that they were indeed his. They then transported the remains all the way back to Toruń...and today (for one day only) the small sarcophagas with Copernicus' remains are on display inside the Cathedral.
TORUŃ DAILY PHOTO was granted a press pass and given access all areas (thanks to the Marshall's Office) to give you all an exclusive first-hand look at this historical event.
Your comments and thoughts about the return of Nicolaus Copernicus to Toruń will be greatly appreciated!
