TORUŃ BY NIGHT: Old and New

This is our last TORUŃ BY NIGHT image for the time being. Again it is taken in another corner of the Old Market Square. On the left we have the famous Star House building (Kamienca "Pod Gwiazdą") and on the right we have PDT a small shopping arcade. The cafe, where the people are sitting is the upmarket Queensland Cafe.

The Star House (or literally "House under the Star") was erected in the Middle Ages, but rebuilt in the late 17th Century in the beautiful baroque style. The reason behind its name, is because of the star at the top of the building (just out of shot).
