Cyclists on the Trans Pennine Trail
Two cyclists on the National Cyclist Network Route #62 approach Stockport Road bridge and the turn off to Osborne Road.
This section is along the line of the former Apethorn to Godley Junction railway.
Following persistant wet weather, the bridlepath on the left, part of the Trans Pennine trail, is like a quagmire and filled with deep puddles that reflect the winter trees.

Weekend Reflections on a path through the slush
A photograph from last Saturday when a blanket of snow had fallen overnight leaving the market ground very icy. Someone had swept a path through the slush but by mid-morning the sun was melting the snow and the cleared path was a river that reflected the buildings behind.
See a wider view of the scene on Hyde DP Xtra.

Weekend reflections in black and white: Norbury House
Norbury House was a residential care home but is now closed and has been for a few years.
Whilst the front door may be boarded up, the glass in the windows still reflects the surrounding trees.
See how it looked two years ago on Hyde DP Xtra.

Apple iPod advertisment
A few weeks ago at the Clarendon Place bus stop I captured this bus with a livery advertising the Apple iPod.
I have no interest in an iPod but did think it would be a suitable "A" contribution for the next round of ABC Wednesday.

Weekend Reflection: Tree in a puddle
I showed you this same tree reflected in a puddle in January 2012.
This year though the puddle is larger due to the uneven-ness of the pavement which I showed you from the opposite direction in fine weather on 6th December.

Christmas Tree reflections
It had rained on Monday and around the Christmas tree in Hyde Civic Square the wet market ground carried reflections of the HSBC bank and the baked potato stall.
In the background is a Stagecoach 330 bus at the grade II listed bus shelter.
I'd done my shopping so just quickly took this shot and then went to catch that bus.

Weekend Reflections: Dowson Road
The window of the "Simply Chinese" takeaway reflects the street scene.
See what it reflected a few weeks ago on Hyde DP Xtra.
Now the road has been resurfaced, had the double-yellow lines repainted and been reopened to traffic.

Weekend Reflections on Market Street
Reflected in the window of "Subway" is the "Cash Generator" store that replaced "Rumbelows" after they went bust many years ago.
Newly opened next to "Subway" is "Café at 64" the new location for Cordwell's Café after their Market Place premises were taken over by Ladbroke's.
Their window not only reflects "Cash Generator" but also the HSBC (formerly Midland) Bank.
Check out the view from the opposite direction - The pedestrian crossing and the bank from inside "Subway" - in my post from May 2007.

Return To Blue Sky
Black's Creek estuary had a higher than normal tide yesterday and provided some nice reflections amongst the drifting wood. Happy Skywatch Friday!

Weekend Reflections: The Town Hall on the Civic Square
On a day when the rain came down in lumps I captured this reflection of the Town Hall in the flags of the new Civic Square from behind the stalls by the Mall.
A smaller but wider/taller version of this, showing the Town Hall itself, can be seen on Geograph
A view of the market stalls from the opposite direction can be seen on Hyde DP Xtra.

Weekend Reflections at Dunkirk Bridge
Dunkirk Lane crosses bridge #4 on the Peak Forest Canal.
The Peak Forest Canal runs for 15 miles between Ashton under Lyne and Whaley Bridge. It was built to link the Ashton Canal with the tramways that brought limestone from the Peak District quarries.

Weekend Reflections: Photograph of William Garside Phillips
One of the exhibits in St George's Church at last weekend's Heritage Open Day was this 1923 photograph of William Garside Phillips, the great great grandfather of Zara Phillips.
It isn't easy to photograph a photograph behind glass, but the bonus is the reflections of the stained glass windows.
For a view of the photograph in its wider setting and more information on William Garside Phillips see Hyde DP Xtra.

This morning was a mixture of brief sunny spells and heavy showers.
Reflected in these puddles on John Street are the barred windows of the Albion public house.
