Singing In The Rain

"Brelli" in hand, this man is taking a rainy day stroll on Spectacle Island . . . I can help but think of that song that Gene Kelly made famous.  Long Island Bridge in Quincy Bay can just barely be seen through the fog.

The Storm

Well it was only a moment of time. On Saturday evening there was a big storm over Toruń...and now the heatwave has gone. In its place we are now back to temperatures as low as 6-8C! Roll on summer!

Awaiting the Rain!

Was walking home this evening and almost splatted this poor frog! It was sitting on the pavement minding its business. Walked right past it and it didn't even flinch. Apparently, it was sitting waiting for the rain which is forecast this evening. Let's hope it moves away before some passer-by does accidently splat it!

Spoke too soon

Always the way...you think it's the end of winter...and yet it still wants to linger! Last weekend TDP posted sunny spring photos. Today though the temperatures have dropped once again, the grey thick clouds have swept in and for the first time in ages, it's raining! Come on spring...you can do it! Come back!

The Big Freeze

It rained a little in the afternoon of Christmas Eve and then yesterday the temperatures dropped again...creating very dangerous icy conditions. Going to midnight mass on Christmas Eve was like having to cross an elongated ice rink! Aside from the dangers...the big freeze has also managed to conjure up some incredibly beautiful images...especially as all the trees and plants froze solid!

Pointillism

Waiting for my son to get out of work gave me an opportunity to play with some selective focus during a recent rain shower. This is my Monochrome Monday pic.

Sheltering from the Rain

Summer is clearly over here in Toruń...and this fine-looking black bird was sheltering from a recent downpour.

Yes...at last ladies and gentlemen...TORUŃ DAILY PHOTO returns after our long summer hiatus. It's good to be back here!

A Heavy Storm

This morning Toruń woke up to a real heavy thunderstorm. The heavens literally opened up. But within an hour the storm clouds had passed and what started out as a miserable morning soon became one of the hottest and humid days of the year!!

Deluge

We're having more spring rain today. This image was taken through my car windshield in a supermarket parking lot.

Rain-covered Flowers

A beautiful patch of red on an otherwise gloomy day. The weather here in Toruń has been terrible. What a cold and miserable May we are having. Still good rain for the flowers!!

More desperate students!

Once again, the streets of Toruń were full today with costume-clad students trying to earn a few extra cash towards their beer. Last night there was or at least should have been a huge student concert near the university...but the weather was sooooo bad. Hours and hours of heavy showers. What a wash out!!

The Wet Beer Taps

The summer beer gardens are up already here in Toruń. But that doesn't neccessarily mean that the weather is ready yet! This beer tap stands in the old market square...soaked through by a recent rain shower.

Rainy Impressions

Rain and wind is forecasted for the next few days. Looking through my deluged windshield, you can see a bit of sky above the Jeep parked in front of me. Click here at the Skywatch Friday site to view many interesting skies from around the world.

Pouring Rain

Charleston, S.C.

Weather is a great metaphor for life,
sometimes it's good,
sometimes it's bad,
and there's nothing much you can do about it
but carry an umbrella.

Soggy Bottoms

Charleston, S.C.

Soggy everything! This is one of those days when I am simply happy to make it home. I check the tide chart and calculate my route carefully. Then, I can't resist wading out in the mucky soup with my little pocket camera. The tow trucks will be working overtime this evening.

This is mostly the Smith, Thomas, Duncan & Pitt St. area - nothing new. The usual flooded intersections. Funny, I had a gentleman working on my gutters yesterday. He had hoped for a few dry hours this morning to finish up. The bad news is that these were taken at low tide. I hate to think of the mess we will have this evening if the rain keeps up.

Time to see what I have in the house to eat. I think I'll be staying in this evening! Y'all be safe.

Down Pour

We've been having some tropical downpours from a storm named "Danny". I like the kiddie car in the parking lot of a local supermarket.

Hanna's visit

We had a visit from Tropical Storm Hanna and received a good lashing of rain.
