Layers

The sun is lighting up the Boston skyline beyond the tower in Squantum.  I like the layering and subtle coloring of clouds in this image.  Happy Skywatch Friday!

Flood Tide

Happy Skywatch Friday!  Stormy skies prevailed for most of the week.  The storm surge and astronomical high tides turned this Squantum marsh into a bay area.  Along the horizon you can see Marina Bay and Boston's Prudential and Hancock towers.

Clearing In Sight

We've had a week of much needed rain and showers.  I do like this view of Boston from the low tide line at Wollaston Beach.

Happy Monochrome Monday!

Waterfront Campus

The University of Massachusetts Boston campus is just a stones throw from Squantum Park at low tide. There are more than 15,000 students enrolled in graduate and undergraduate programs here; we are lucky to have a public university so close by.

Boston Harbor Walk is a great place to stroll (and take pictures). Happy Monochrome Monday!

Summit View

On a clear day you can see the Boston skyline from atop Summit Avenue. Some north Quincy high-rise apartments and condos can be seen in front of the Boston skyline.

Long Wharf View

Here's the unobstructed view Boston's Long Wharf that you got a glimpse of yesterday.

Birds-eye View

Fall foliage is just beginning to tease us. Looking down from one of Quincy's abandoned quarries, you can see the Southeast Expressway (aka route 3 or I-93) which is the main highway into Boston from Cape Cod.

Bay View

This is a view of Dorchester Bay and Boston from a grassy knoll in Squantum. The play of light on the flowers and bark caught my eye.

Make Way For Sailboats

I liked this view of Boston from Squantum. The small sailboats seem to be following the larger one, just like ducklings do.

Enjoy your Sunday!

I like the Boston skyline from this snowy vantage point in Squantum.

Storm on the horizon

Granite Links Golf course is the site of this incredible view of Boston surrounded by storm clouds. It seemed to work well in monochrome. It's Monochrome Monday once again; click here for more black and white images from around the world.

Commute to Boston

It's Monday and back to work in Boston for many car commuters from Quincy. This view of Boston was actually takeen in the late afternoon, while riding shotgun into Boston on Route 93 aka "Southeast Expressway" or "Distressway" because it's not usually very fast. Have a great week everyone.

Clubhouse View

One of the best views of Boston from Quincy is from the Granite Links Clubhouse. Not far from here is the site of the first commercial railway in the U.S. Some of the near by abandoned quarries are reused for rock climbing.
