This evening we went for a nice walk along the city walls. The sun was just setting which helped create a warm and romantic atmosphere. Adding to the romance was some temporary graffiti (created by snowballs) on the city wall (to the right). It originally said: "Kocham Cie"...aka "I Love You". How nice!

A Romantic Walk

Toruń at dusk
This was the scene last night in the Old Town on a warm spring evening...and due to the extreme hot weather we have been having...there was quite a bit of activity. The building you see on the left is the back of the Town Hall. The large grand-looking building in the background is Dwór Artusa (Arthur's Court) which hosts an array of classical concerts and exhibitions. Most people enjoy the warm evenings by having a glass of their favourite beer in one of the many beer gardens. You know exactly what beer they have on offer by the umbrellas they have up. You can see that this beer garden in particular has Tyskie beer.

Tranquility on the River Vistula
Dusk over the River Vistula...creating an almost peaceful and calm nature. But don't be fooled...hidden within the river lie whirlpools and unpredictable currents that prevent any swimming or bathing. On the right, we can see Toruń's very own river pub...which is static during the summer season and allows for drinking beer in relaxing surroundings. On the left, you can see the pontoon in which the small boat"Katarzyna II" ferries tourists across the river to the opposite side, where you can witness the stunning panorama of Toruń.
