This view of the wind turbine on Deer Island and the striped tower in Winthrop is taken from Lovell's island in Boston Harbor.  The sailboat adds a definite touch of summer.

Impromptu Race

Frostbiters

Most Saturdays in the winter a group of hardy sailors hoist their sails in Boston Harbor for some cold calculated competition aka winter frostbite racing.

Sailboats are anchored in Black's Creek estuary and are used in Quincy Recreation's sailing program during the summer. Long Island Bridge can be seen in the background.
