Illuminated History

Here are these new signs at their best - all illuminated under the night sky. Makes a nice addition to the old town.

The Bus Seat

Got on one of the new city buses today and was surprised to see that it has colourful, new seats complete with pictures of some of Toruń's historic buildings. A nice touch!

Welcome to Toruń!

For such a beautiful city...Toruń's main train station is a far from welcoming site. This underground passage is what visitors and tourists are first greeted with upon arriving in the city. This for sure will need a makeover if the city ever gets its 2016 European Capital of Culture status.

TORUŃ BY NIGHT: Donkey Competition

This is the latest addition to the main square of Toruń...a sculpture of a donkey!! It was unveiled only 3 days ago on Friday 12th October. But, what does it have to do with Toruń and why on earth is it here?

The King Lives On!

Really this relatively new club doesnt really seem to fit in with the rest of Torun's architecture. Obviously the owner is a fan of good ole rock n roll...though I guess the music may be a little different!

Easter Greetings from Toruń Daily Photo! Or Wesołych Swiąt as the Poles say! I have already been up since 5 am in order to go to the local village church for Easter Mass. It is a custom to walk 3 times around the church in a religious procession. This photo was taken a couple of weeks ago. Unfortuantely, it is extrememly cold, windy and cloudy today here in Toruń. A far contrast from today's pic! Roll on summer...
