The Jewell House

This Queen Anne style house is one of two domed towered residences in the Wollaston Hill section of Quincy. The most striking element of this fine Queen Anne residence is the extraordinary variety of shingles which are used on all the wall surfaces. The monochrome really shows off the shingle detail. David L. Jewell was the builder of this home in 1888 and members of the Jewell family lived here until the 1930s . . . hence the house name.

If you enjoy black and white images, click here to see more on the Monochrome Maniacs Monday portal. If you like late 19th and early 20th century houses come back and visit "...old house day" on Thursdays. Enjoy your week everyone!
