I went to a holiday shindig that was cancelled due to illness and then wandered off to enjoy dinner at Heart Woodfire Kitchen on Folly Rd. with a good friend.  Great food! Fresh and reasonable, just the way I like it.

Here is another sweetie in the teeny, tiny houses of Charleston category. This one is on lower King St. almost at the Battery.

It is hard to believe we could be having such bright and sunny weather while tropical storm Sandy is hitting the north east. It is so distressing knowing what those poor people will have to go through.

I cooked dinner for six women friends this evening. This is mostly a retired gang of hospital employees. Soon I'll be the only one of this group working while they fritter their jolly time away going out to lunch and puttering in their gardens. I want to be retired when I grow up. We had a lovely dinner after I scrambled together enough silverware for seven. I am clearly out of the habit of large scale entertaining and I had to borrow two forks from my son. I served roasted beet and goat cheese salad, shepherd's pie, corn and a lemon tart. Yummers.

I adore these little lowcountry cottages. I used to imagine that if I won the lottery I would give a great award to architecture students to design something practical and new that looked like this but would replace the ugliness of today's mobile home. Whenever I pass this particular one I have to sing out "Donkeys for sale!" and keep my eye out for the two asses in the neighboring fields.

I love the teeny, tiny houses sprinkled between the mansions of the Charleston peninsula and I thought this was one of them. Checking the real estate web site I discover it is a lot bigger than it looks. It has 1,910 square feet, 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. So. Not so tiny after all but it is a sweetie. The price isn't so tiny either but worth a look if you have a million to spare.

I love these little tiny houses in Charleston. Some of them hardly seem wide enough for a tall person to stretch out. Many of them were carriage or kitchen houses for the main building on the property. This brick one is a sweetie.
