I adore these little lowcountry cottages. I used to imagine that if I won the lottery I would give a great award to architecture students to design something practical and new that looked like this but would replace the ugliness of today's mobile home. Whenever I pass this particular one I have to sing out "Donkeys for sale!" and keep my eye out for the two asses in the neighboring fields.

I love these little lowcountry cottages. I assumed this one was abandoned but after slowing down to get a shot I realized that it was occupied. Ooops. I tried to wave cheerfully and moved along.

In other news I just caught the tail end of Chef Sean Brock on Anthony Bourdain's No Reservation. How exciting is that?! Pretty darn exciting :) Wish I'd seen the whole thing.

Cottage in Blue

Oh, it looks like the perfect Cottage Magazine cottage doesn't it? This could be on a lot of dream house lists. I walked past it when I was wandering in the old village of Mt. Pleasant on Sunday. It is even my shade of blue. I hope the occupants are very happy.

Check out this amazing painting of a quilt. Wow. I found it because I was thinking of trying to paint a quilt but I'm so blown away by this it seems pointless. I should just finish sewing up the bits and pieces of a crazy quilt I have in a trunk and be done with it. I've gotten out of the habit of handicrafts ever since I .....ahem....got a laptop and it sucked all the hours out of my day.
