Twice a year the Friends of the Thomas Crane Library sell used books. It's the best book sale in town. The money they make from these events goes towards some excellent programs held at the library for both children and adults.
"The love of learning, the sequestered nooks,
And all the sweet serenity of books." -Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Cozy Hearth

The woodwork in the H.H. Richardson wing of the Thomas Crane Library is North Carolina pine. Hand carved native plants and berries form part of the ornamental woodwork of the fireplace and was designed by Henry Hobson Richardson's architectural firm. I'm sure the chimney flues are closed now for lots of reasons.
