Number 74 Greenleaf Street, built by George W. Barker in the late 1870's is a very fine example of early "Stick Style". Greenleaf Street is rich in period architecture of the 19th century and is named after one of Quincy's best known family's of that time. I like the simple angular trim, diagonal braces, picket fence patterned boards and slate roof of this old house. My favorite elements of this house have to be the front and side porches. This house is located on a corner lot and it has a handsome granite wall around two sides of the property. I'll take you to some more Greenleaf Street properties on future Thursdays.
