Our Cinema

This is Nasz Kino ("Our Cinema")...one of the few remaining small cinemas here in the Old Town of Toruń. There used to be 4 but then the large multiplex Cinema City came along!

Toruń's very own Silver Screen

This is Toruń's very own mulitplex Cinema City, which opened 2 years ago in May 2005 (with the screening of Star Wars 3). Toruń used to have 4 small one-screen cinemas scattered around the Old Town...but like everywhere else these have been taken over by the multiplex. However, on a plus side two have remained successfully opened in direct competition with the larger multiplex. Some people prefer the more intimate atmosphere of the smaller cinemas...'size doesn't matter' after all!

Unlike some countries (e.g. Germany), films in Poland are shown in their original format plus Polish subtitles. Which is a blessing for someone who only has a limited knowledge of the Polish language!

Today, I will be venturing into Cinema City to watch Spiderman 3...will let you know my thoughts on it later!
