Yes Malyss you were right, Darryl certainly does have a passion for tractors, but no Andrew not for racing, though I wonder what that would be like with these beauties! In a hangar at the top of the hill is the biggest collection of restored tractors I've ever seen together in one place (agricultural shows haven't been high on my agenda!). There was a gasp as the doors slid open to reveal the gleaming group of beautifully rebuilt, most from a very sorry state, tractors. There were four different models of McCormack Deering, a couple of John Deer, a David Brown, and a Minneapolis-Moline, just to name a few, you might have to enlarge the images to see the model numbers and details. When the flywheel of the John Deer Model D was cranked up it roared into life and then purred like a pussy cat, a testament to some very dedicated endeavor! I'm glad to say these beauties do get loaded up and shown regularly at country agricultural shows, so many more than we few 'city slickers' get to appreciate them. All in all it was an excellent day spent in the WA countryside with family and friends, thanks again Darryl and Robin for the wonderful welcome. Have a happy Tuesday, take care..
A work in progress.....
and a future project, so you can see the starting point is a long way from the finished restoration.....
I can't believe I forgot about the very beautifully restored David Brown, thanks Andrew for the prompt.....
