Perth DP goes rural.....
Yesterday we were up with the Corellas, piling into the car with blankets, pillows and a flask of hot coffee. The hot coffee was for P, the rest for Aimee and I, both intending to sleep for most of the 269 klm trip down to Boyup Brook. P does a lot of walking down south and has walked the Bibbulmun Track from beginning to end, but Aimee and I are definitely city gals! The last time we made this trip was in the middle of summer and the scenery wasn't inspiring, now at the beginning of winter and after a bit of rain, it is stunning, rolling green fields, cows and sheep grazing contentedly, rows of neatly trimmed grape vines. The country roads are in excellent condition, the only thing that I can't understand is, when the top speed on our freeways is 100 kph, why is the speed limit on smaller, windier country roads 110 kph, it makes no sense, especially when the accident rate on country roads is so high. The above shot is the entrance to the farm of Darryl and Robin, who were hosting a 'Naming Day' ceremony for the latest addition to our family, and their newest granddaughter, Sophie.....
This one is for you Daryl in NYC they're not water tanks, they're silos..but there's three of them and not sure why but I thought of you.....!! Below everyone is heading up the big hill at the back of the property...
As Darryl is semi retired now it gives him plenty of time to work on his real passion which is... here's a clue and I'll show you tomorrow. It's so late, lots of driving, too many images to sort through and still feeling a little icky! You might have even guessed, it's a pretty great clue oui! Another week beginning, let's hope it's a good one, stay safe.....
