Not as bad as it looks.....!

This shot was taken from Henderson Cliffs, which by White Cliffs of Dover standards is a bit of a stretch! Looking down towards Kwinana and the Alcoa Refinery. Despite the clouds of smoke billowing from the many chimneys Alcoa is committed to a high standard of environmental performance and has for the last thirty years been in partnership with Greening Australia (good little video) planting more than 200 million trees over that period. Did I mention Alcoa is an aluminum refinery, interesting fact, apparently 75% of all aluminum ever produced is still in use today, recycling is a marvelous thing!  Have a wonderful Sunday... p.s sorry the photos aren't so sharp, we were quite a distance away and the light was going fast....To see more chimneys from around the world click City Daily Photo Theme Day .....
