day 98 - a beautiful day for a slushie dog

Big day in our house. Ava decided long ago that she wanted to get her ears pierced before her "six birthday". Her six birthday is Wednesday, so today was the day.

Insert a huge endorsement for emla cream because there was no pain and no tears. The first earring went in and she exclaimed "I didn't feel a thing!"



After that, we went on a small geocaching adventure. Weirdest trinket find so far: fake eyelashes.

We took a break and enjoyed "slushie dogs" at the park (Owenism)





and went for an adventure through a forest nearby that I've driven past my almost my entire life and have never stopped. It was a nice walk.



It was a full day, but a good day.
