A walk around Hyde Park.....

Have you ever noticed that when you're trying to get a decent shot of birds, it's almost as if they know it and start preening, I was trying to get a full frontal of these two Mallard ducks but they had their heads stuck in all the wrong places! Still I liked the colours and reflections. I'm not terribly fond of the Ibis, they seem a little macabre to me, but he was there so .....snap!!

On the other hand these colourful little Rainbow Lorikeets are a delight to see. They were squabbling over some of the figs that had fallen into the fork of the Morten Bay Fig tree.....

Couldn't resist a shot of the said Morten Bay Fig tree roots which grow to a huge size over the years.

 

The last two are my favourites, firstly the park is such a great spot for school outings, so many different birds to see..on the day I was there, there were a group of  young school children enjoying the park, sitting under the trees enjoying their lunch. Lastly, even though he was quite a way off, there was no way I could resist this handsome face peering at me from behind one of the big Plane trees, he was gorgeous! I did laugh last night when I realized I'd used a word that might have duel meaning..believe me if the bride had hiked her dress up to reveal a thong 'American' 'style, everyone in the park would have fallen over the edge into the lake hahahahaha!
