Up there Cazaly.........!!

What a buzz to have one of your photographs celebrated in statue form (although if one of my photographs was going to be immortalised, I'd prefer it to be of something 'pretty', not men playing with balls haha!), this is exactly what happened when Maurie Hammond, photographer for The West Australian, took this photo, impressive, who said white men can't jump! It was a 'mark' taken by South Fremantle's John Gerovich over East Fremantle's Ray French in October 1956, which Maurie clicked at possibly the most exciting point. The image was commemorated by local sculptor Robert Hitchcock and sits in front of the gates to the Fremantle Football Club.  If you've ever watched an 'Aussie rules' game, you will have seen that the rules are very different from soccer in the 'mother' country, some say 'vive la difference' others say....eh!! check out this little video Up there Cazaly made in 2010....
