After a few days of pulling up my pants non-stop, I had my dad add some holes to my belt. Did you know you can punch holes in leather with a crop-a-dile? Me neither. The distance between the notch I used to use and the new one I am using now? 2.75 inches. Unbelievable. I may have to celebrate by buying myself some new, smaller jeans.

Ava and I made beer bread to go with dinner. This is the easiest bread you will ever make. It doesn't need time to rise, you don't need to use any yeast and it is delicious smothered with butter straight out of the oven (which I did not do. Well a little bit. But nothing crazy.). It's called Labatt Lager Loaf but since I don't think I have ever seen a case of Labatt anything come into this house, we used Bud Light instead.
No day would be complete without the boys doing something crazy. Ava has been showing her brothers how to do things and giving them far too many ideas. Guess who put the tractor on the toy box? (That's Owen in green and Ethan in blue.)
Here is the recipe for the bread if you want to try it out:
Labatt's Lager Loaf
2-3/4 cups all purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp dry mustard
1 cup shredded old cheddar cheese
1 bottle Labatt's Blue beer (uncap and allow to come to room temperature)
* I've used Bud Light, Molson Canadian, etc. and it always tastes exactly the same
Topping: 1/4 cup shredded old cheddar cheese
Spoon flour into a dry measuring cup. Level off and pour into a bowl. Add baking powder, sugar, salt and dry mustard and stir well to combine. Add cheese and toss evenly to distribute. Pour in Labatt's blue beer and stir just to combine.
Spread in a greased 8" x 4" loaf pan. Sprinkle top with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 F for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool a few minutes before turning onto a wire rack. Serve warm. (I also like to toast it - it's delicious.)
