Welcome to the Dr's

It may be bleak and cold...but at least it's very clean and efficient. This is a typical scene in a local dr's surgery here in Toruń. The sign above the door says "NIE WCHODZIĆ" (Do Not Enter) and its meant to light up when the dr is busy. However, this one was never working and the dr had to come and call each patient.
The hospitals in Poland can be pretty dire but atleast a visit to your GP is a relatively straightforward experience. One can literally walk off the street and be seen in little time at all...even without an appointment. It's a different story in England...where you always have to call up first to make an appointment...and if you're lucky you'll have to wait a couple of days to see your doctor!!
